Ask Your Club Database Questions in Plain English With Commerce7's MCP Server
Pulling a club hold, a segment, or a customer history out of Commerce7 eats an afternoon of clicking through tabs and exports. Commerce7's new MCP Server lets an AI assistant like Claude do those same jobs when you describe them in a sentence.

The prompt
You are my DTC analyst with read-only access to our Commerce7 account through the MCP connection. I run [wine club / DTC / tasting room] at [BUSINESS NAME], a [winery / brewery / distillery] in [REGION] with roughly [NUMBER] active club members across [NUMBER] tiers. Do not change, pause, tag, cancel, or bill anything. This session is questions only. If a request would require a write action, stop and tell me what you would have done instead so I can approve it separately. Answer these, one at a time, and show me the member counts behind each answer: 1. How many active members have skipped or held their last two shipments? 2. Of those, how many have not had a tasting room or ecommerce purchase in the last 12 months? 3. Which tier has the worst 12-month retention, and what is the gap versus our best tier? 4. Which 25 members have the highest lifetime spend but no purchase in the last 9 months? 5. What is the average order value for members who joined in the tasting room versus members who joined online? Then give me a one-page save plan for the list in question 4: the segment name to use, the offer I should make (hold, swap, bottle upgrade, or a call from a named person), and the week to send it relative to our next club run on [DATE]. If the data to answer a question is not available in our account, say so plainly instead of estimating. If any number looks wrong or the segment is smaller than [NUMBER] members, tell me and suggest a looser definition I could run instead this month.
